Dr. TJ Ahn, DPM
Board-certified foot & ankle surgeon · Founder, International MIFAS Cadaver Lab
A letter from Dr. Ahn
I am Dr. TJ Ahn, and I am very grateful that you are reading this page.
If you are overworked and underpaid as a foot & ankle surgeon, I've been there. Patient overload. Insurance BS. A lifestyle that kept shrinking while I worked harder. I almost quit.
Then I found the ONE THING that completely turned my surgical career around.
Today I work 2.5 days a week in clinic, earn basically a seven-figure income, and still have time for my family and the other companies I run.
The part I love most? Coaching surgeons like you to build profitable practices with minimally invasive foot surgery.
Founder of the International MIFAS Cadaver Lab, hosted and organized annually since 2018.
Author of two Amazon bestsellers: “Opt-Out” and “Podiatry Profits: Crafting a Seven-Figure Lifestyle Practice.”

But it wasn't like this back in 2012. I was miserable...
Overloaded with patients and paperwork. On the verge of quitting my practice altogether.
Working harder than ever. Paid less than ever. And it had nothing to do with my skill.
Obamacare hit, and the insurance world became ridiculously convoluted.
Surgical reimbursements dropped ridiculously low. Enough.
Then, right when I was about to quit, a friend dragged me to an MIS cadaver lab in 2014.
2014. One cadaver lab. My first exposure to MIS.
Minimally invasive surgery was the future.

What happened next
I poured my life into MIS. Over 40 mentor visits in 2 years. More than $150K of my own money.
Once I became proficient, I learned to offer it cash-pay, and out of that I built something new: the hybrid-concierge practice model.
And my practice transformed dramatically.
The receipts
Ten years in the room where MIS Intensive was built.

Imagine if...
01
Patients seek you out and pay out of pocket for your MIS procedures, because you offer what others don't.
02
You operate through 3 mm portals in your own in-office procedure suite, on your schedule.
03
You double, even triple your practice revenue within 2 years.
See 6-10 patients a day and offer every one of them your best solution.
They pay cash because they want their pain solved today. And when given the choice, patients choose minimally invasive.
Minimally Invasive Foot & Ankle Surgery
is the future of foot & ankle care...

For the skeptics
“Where's the evidence?” Settled.
For years MIS was scrutinized for a thin evidence base. Not anymore. Peer-reviewed studies and published outcomes now document the effectiveness and efficacy of these techniques.
Every procedure we teach is a published procedure. Hammertoe, lesser metatarsal osteotomy, Reverdin-Isham, Akin, tailor's bunion, plantar fasciotomy and more. Nothing experimental. Nothing fringe.
Don't take my word for it. Here is a sample of the literature, and you get the full reference library inside the program:

Dr. Stephen A. Isham
Lineage
A pioneer of percutaneous foot surgery. The Reverdin-Isham osteotomy carries his name. My mentor, and the reason this program exists.
I learned this craft at his table. Everything we teach stands on what he built, and every surgeon we train carries his work forward.
The code
Integrity. Loyalty. Lineage.
I came up through martial arts before I came up through surgery. The dojo and the operating room run on the same rules, and so does everything I build.
Integrity first.
Do what is right for the patient, even when nobody is watching. Especially then.
Loyalty runs both ways.
To your mentors, to your colleagues, and to the surgeons who come after you. I don't disappear after you enroll.
Relationship over transaction.
You are not buying a course. You are joining a lineage that runs from Dr. Isham through me to you.
Rank is earned.
Nobody is handed a coat. Your peers and instructors approve it, or you don't wear it.
The reps are the way.
Mastery is built at the table, case after case, year after year. There is no shortcut, only the path.
Some say this feels more like a family than a program. Good. That is the point.
A weekend workshop gets you started. It does not make you proficient. The difference between excitement and mastery is a system.
Introducing
What is The MIS INTENSIVE™ Certificate Program?
A 12-month certificate program that takes you from your first cadaver lab to performing percutaneous MIS on your own patients. Three levels, three coats, and a board pathway built in.
The MIS Intensive certificate ladder
Three levels. Three coats.
Approved by your peers and instructors. Not a participation award.
Each level ends in a peer-approved certificate of completion. This is a certificate program, not board certification; your board pathway runs separately through ABMSP, covered next.

Level 1
The White Coat

Hammertoes, lesser metatarsal osteotomies, soft tissue techniques.
- Complete the MIFAS Accelerator online course
- Attend 3 private cadaver labs (or 2 private + 1 advanced)
- Submit 5 planned and 5 completed cases for faculty review
- Pass the cadaver practical exam: one hammertoe + one lesser met
Pass → your White Coat + Level 1 Certificate of Completion
Earned by: Dr. Martha Holzworth, Dr. Dora Achille, Dr. Karen Lee, Dr. Julie Abboud, Dr. Angelo Morreale, Dr. Cory Pilling, and many more

Level 2

Level 3
The Grey Coat
Instructor
From surgeon to instructor and leader of the MIS movement.
- Attend 3 labs, at least one as a cadaver lab instructor
- Support one International MIFAS Conference
- Demonstrate leadership and active community participation
Pass → your Grey Coat + Level 3 Certificate of Completion
Earned by: Dr. Timothy Shea, Dr. Lawrence Kales, Dr. Brian Lee, Dr. Helene Nguyen
Board certification, built in
Board certification by ABMSP, built into the program.
The moment you join, you become a candidate for board certification by ABMSP.
MIS Intensive is one of the official ABMSP certification pathways. Complete the program and you have fulfilled nearly every board requirement except your surgical cases.
One program. Your coat, your certificate of completion, and a recognized board pathway. No other MIS training in the country is built this way.

100%
pass rate to date. Commit, follow the program, and you will pass.
Why it works
Three things a weekend cannot give you.
C1
Course
A structured curriculum: the 8 core procedures filmed on real patients, plus case studies. A proven path, not a weekend blur.
C2
Coaching
Weekly live case reviews, typically Thursday evenings and always recorded, with direct faculty guidance. You are never stuck alone on a case.
C3
Community
A private network of practicing MIS surgeons with 2,000+ cases discussed and archived. Momentum that lasts past the honeymoon.
You'll learn everything you need to implement MIS with confidence, and you should start attracting 3-10 cases a week by the end of this mentorship.
And no, you don't have to leave the OR or the insurance networks. DPM or MD, office or hospital: if you operate on the foot & ankle, you belong here. Orthopedic foot & ankle surgeons train in our labs alongside podiatric surgeons. Proficiency comes first; how you practice with it stays your choice.
Do you want to find out if you are a good fit?

And you are NOT going to pay this amount.
Again, you are NOT going to pay this amount! Please read on...
Let me ask you this...
What if all you did after completing the MIS Intensive program was to perform, on average, 3 simple MIS procedures every week?
Say, a simple exostectomy or a hammertoe. Given the average practice cost for each of these simple procedures, you are making an average of $3,000 to $4,000 extra per week. That's $9,000 to $12,000 per month.
That is
$108,000 to $0
in additional revenue per year, from 3 simple MIS procedures a week.
If all I did was help you get 3 more patients every week and help you become a proud surgeon who can consistently provide financial stability to your family, I think we would both agree that even at the full $19,050 value it wouldn't seem all that much, now does it?
Good news. I'm not charging nearly that much, and optional payment plans are available.
In fact, I can promise you that you can afford this program. It's probably a lot less than your watch or your golf membership or that new Tesla. So don't worry about price at this second.
I am 100% confident that this will change your surgical practice, and I'm willing to propose a special price...
NOT $150,000+
What it cost me to build this path alone
NOT $19,050
The full stacked value of the program
A fraction of either.
The exact number is reserved for the call.
Optional payment plans are available. Let's talk through your goals, answer your questions, and find out whether this program is the right fit for you.
My double guarantee to you
Guarantee 1
You will pass your MIS Intensive level.
Most of our surgeons finish well within the year. But even if you don't pass within one year, I keep working with you until you do. Your only additional expense is the cost of the cadaver.
Guarantee 2
You will become board certified.
I walk you through the entire ABMSP application: every form, every requirement, every document they ask for. The only part that has to be yours is your own surgical cases, and I keep working with you until you pass.
You don't fail this program. You finish it.
The real question for us now is: are YOU the right fit?
We don't take everyone. You have to be coachable. You have to be committed.
This is for you if...
- You'll follow a proven 12-month system instead of improvising
- You'll show up to the labs and submit real cases for faculty review
- You want mastery and a peer-approved coat, not a participation certificate
- You're ready to bring MIS into your everyday practice, office or hospital
This is NOT for you if...
- You're hoping one magic weekend replaces repetitions
- You won't make time for labs or coaching calls
- You collect certificates instead of doing the reps
One more thing: the private group cadaver labs are small-group by design, typically limited to 14 attendees, so every surgeon gets real hands-on reps and attention to detail. When a wave fills, the next one waits months.
If you've made it this far, it's very likely you are the right fit. Book your free, no-obligation 45-minute strategy session. I'll get a sense of your goals and your practice, and if we both feel it, you enroll in the next wave:
45 minutes. No obligation. You'll know by the end of the call.

Here are a few more doctors who have completed my program. Listen to what they have to say...
Dr. Beth Pearce

Dr. Lawrence Kales

Dr. Daniel Basalely
New York
“Weekly coaching calls are a wealth of knowledge and I was able to avoid many potential mistakes.”
My question to you...
What's holdingyou back?
A year from now you'll be a year older either way. With the system: proficient, confident, booked with MIS cases. Without it: still referring out the cases you could own.
Same year. Different surgeon.
If not now, when?
The new golden opportunity in foot & ankle surgery is here...
P.S. The strategy session is free, 45 minutes, and with me personally. Worst case, you leave with a clear 12-month MIS plan for your practice. Best case, it changes everything.
